5 Tips for Living a More Joyful Life

Joy is defined as "a feeling of great happiness", and being happy as we all know is something that many philosophers throughout history have considered to be one of the most important factors in a good life. Life is full of joyful moments, moments that we hold onto while we go through hard times. Living a healthier and more joy filled life has been something that I have always and will always strive to do because I think that having these moments are important for your mental health and are also extremely important when you are on a journey full of so many stress filled moments such as the one that so many of us are on. Here are just a few of my tips on how to live a more joy filled life, just a note it isn't as much about the things you do as it is the way you look at the moments in your life.

These are 5 things that I do to live a more joyful life and I hope there is something in this post that will help you do the same.

1. Acknowledge

Acknowledge your joy, reflect on that joy and don't let it just pass you by without really recognizing those beautiful joyful moments. Because if you don't recognize those moments you may not be able to use step 2 to better experience and hold onto those moments.

2. Remember

Remember what brought you to that moment just be present in the beauty of that moment taking in every second unfiltered and pristine. Memory is a wonderful thing the fact that your brain is wired to store information that you can access regardless of where you are in the world and what is available to you; even with every technological advancement memories have never been as accessible as when you recall them from your neural net even if recall is not as as perfect as it would be with the internet.

3. Celebrate

Enjoy the moment, celebrate those moments of joy and happiness. We don't have to wait for a few special times a year to celebrate the wonderful things in our lives, we should be able to celebrate them as they come and when ever those wonderful moments present themselves. Take part in the joyful moments of others as well because sharing in these moments can be life changing and heart warming; not to mention the impact that sharing a moment can have on two individuals lives or group of people.

4. Share

Use your joyful moments to encourage those around you, or use what brings you joy to add to the lives of others; there is no better feeling than using something that brings you so much joy to add to the joy of someone else; to multiply that feeling in another life, what an honor and a privileged to be part of something like that.

5. Accept

Accept that there will be good times and bad times but also never forget that joy comes in the morning, that the bad times end and that hope and joy are never lost.

This post is short because joy isn't as complex as we may think, joy is something so beautifully simple and yet complex in its elegant way of changing our lives and molding us into the people we are just as much the the heart ache and pain we experience. Joy and hope can never be lost and they will always be right on the horizon to enter our lives just as everything else.
